FoSOC are please to announce a Jane Austen walk in July as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of her birth in 1775 .Jane Austen was an English novelist known for her six novels, famously for ‘Pride & Prejudices’ & ‘Sense & Sensibility’ which perfectly interpret, and comment upon the English landed gentry at the end of the 18th century. Austen’s plots often searches for the dependence of women on marriage for the pursuit of favourable social standing and financial security This walk includes Austen family graves along with other notables from the period, naval, military, businesses and friends.
