The Royal Belgium Veterans Association – Act of Remembrance will be held at the Belgium War Memorial in the Old Southampton Cemetery.
The Nationale Strijdersbond Van Belgie , Federationale Des Combattants De Belgique , The Royal Federation of Belgian Veterans have a thriving U.K. Branch whose strap line is No Belgian Fallen Shall Be Forgotten On U.K. Soil. We visit all the Belgian was graves and Memorials in the U.K. and lay crosses and wreaths as appropriate. In addition we participate in many Remembrance and Liberation Ceremonies in Belgium including the King’s Parade at the Colonne du Congres on the 11th November.
We are instrumental with working with towns and cities in the installation of Peace Monuments. The Monument represents an awareness raising on the importance of peace in the volatile and dangerous world. That there is a price paid for peace and that sadly as a Nation we must be prepared to pay. The act of wreath laying is to commemorate all those in the Armed Forces who have paid the ultimate sacrifice past , present and future. Since WWII there have been about 85 operations involving our Armed Forces , nearly all of which have cost lives. We remember them all.
