Halloween Walks- Sunday 27th October

Monday 28th October 2019

Yesterday ‘Halloween Walk’ was undertaken by FoSOC Guide Lizzie O’Sullivan and was in brilliant sunshine (after the downpour of the previous day) and was very, very well attended, over 90 public and a few FoSOC members. The largest ever to be held in the Old Cemetery
However, this really was too large a group to take around the Old Cemetery, but Lizzie managed to be heard and did extremely well because not many left before the end! Lizzie did a circuit starting from just halfway off the Main Carriage way with Sarah Jupe (unmarked grave) and finishing with Edward Bist. (Train Accident photo attached). She brought to life each fascinating story of those who were buried in the Old Cemetery that needed to be heard with lots of enthusiasm, which kept the group’s full attention
A very loud applause was awarded to Lizzie by all of the group.
Many afterwards stated they would like to return to hear more stories that the Old Cemetery can tell.
Well Done Lizzie!
Walks for 2020 starting in April with ‘Titanic’ see fosoc.org (website, under Events) for more details.
