Roll of Honour Reading

Saturday 10th November 2018

This morning at 9.15 am 457 (Hampshire Carabiniers Yeomanry) Battery, 106 Regiment Royal Artillery, stood to attention at the Cross of Sacrifice at Southampton Old Cemetery to read out a ‘Roll of Honour’ for all the ‘Royal Artillery officers and soldiers’ who died during the First World War, the reading finished at 10.00am.
Afterwards the regiment laid wooden crosses at four graves, Cyril Page, Charles Ensor, Reginald Martin Dunsford and Edwin Heath all these soldiers served in the First World War in the Royal Garrison Artillery.
From 10.00 am there was to be more reading from Portsmouth.
Cyril Page & his brothers’ grave was only just finished – looking wonderful.
FoSOC would like to thank the Royal Garrison Artillery Regiment (RGA) for the acknowledgement of the ‘Reading of the Roll of Honour’ at the Old Southampton Cemetery in this the 100th Anniversary of Armistice 1918-2018.
