Task Day- 3rd November 2018

Sunday 4th November 2018

Yesterday was a Task Day before Remembrance Sunday (11th November) and around twenty – five FoSOC members turned up to help. They were here, there and everywhere between the two Crosses, making sure the areas were looking perfect (or as perfect) for the ceremony on Sunday.
The members were cutting back ivy from headstones, mowing and blowing the pathways, tidying up the edging of the pathways, painting a bench and removing the glass candles from the Crosses and surrounding area.
Though the glass candles, which are placed there (by persons unknown) for ‘All Saints Day’, also known as All Hallows' Day, Hallowmas, the Feast of All Saints, or Solemnity of All Saints, 31st October /1st November do look pretty they are dangerous and when left, being made of glass they can easily break and cause damage.
Many thanks to all the hard work achieved today. Next Task Day 1st December. But remember “Remembrance Sunday 11th November @ 3. 00 pm at the Cross of Sacrifice”.
