Task Day - 4th August
Saturday 4th August 2018
Twenty FoSOC members attended today’s ‘Task Day’, most arrived early, same as last month because by midday the weather is very HOT, too HOT to work in. A few did not get the early start message and arrived by 10. 00 am but this was still OK.
The area worked on was still very much in the shade, with no long grass which helped a lot. By the time the Taskers were finished they welcomed a well-earned break or ‘brunch’ at 11. 15 a.m. The area now had sight lines opened up and many, many interesting headstones were revealed.
In the meantime Steuart FoSOC's new Ecology Officer with the help of Adrian (a FoSOC Member), they managed to cut down a branch that had fallen and was obstructing a pathway within the Old Cemetery.
Another member Pete, did mow the front lawn and blow way the dead grass that was on the Yew Tree pathways, which was left behind by the SCC strimming team who were in the Old Cemetery some time last week.
After ‘brunch’ was served many members stayed behind sitting under the Gazebo, by the Non-Conformist Chapel, chatting amongst themselves.
Once again well done to everyone for all the work achieved today – hope to see you again on 1st September, back to normal if weather has cooled down………. watch this space! or check e-mails!
