Health, Wealth and the Victorians

Sunday 6th August 2017

Today on a beautiful sunny afternoon in the old cemetery, there was a guided walk led by FoSOC guide Brenda Phillips on “Health, Wealth and the Victorians”. The walk started at the grave of the Perkins family, where Brenda gave a brief explanation of how/why the old cemetery came about, then onto William Campbell Maclean, Surgeon General, Dr John Wiblin and finally Revd. Adkins with many more interesting graves in between. The walk lasted about one and half hours and Brenda was greeted at the end with a well-deserved applause. Many thanks and well done for a well-researched and interesting look at the 19th century and the Victorians.
